
During the British Rule in India there was a unique but forgotten battle on 12th September 1897 at the Samana Range , where Saragarhi post was established.
This battle enjoys a special status because it witnessed exemplary bravery , where 21 Sikh Soldiers of 36 Sikh Regiment faced 10000 Orakzai and Afridi ferocious tribals. All the 21 Sikh soldering martyr killing 180 to 200 Pathans.
Dr Gurinderpal Singh Josan, USA visited the place in 2019 along with UK army brigadier and team for in-depth study and has published the book “Mission Saragarhi “. The book is public by Saragarhi Foundation Inc. The book was launched at Indian Consulate, New York, USA.
